SHSU Online is pleased to announce that SHSU faculty, students, and staff will soon have access to one of the largest nationwide digital collections of videos. LinkedIn Learning (formerly Lynda.com) will be deployed campus-wide through an integration inside Blackboard, and access will be available starting in Spring 2021.
SHSU Online opened up its Online Course Redesign & Faculty Certification Program to all instructors, not just those teaching online, at the start of the Summer 2020 term. This program has been running full speed ahead, and it will continue to offer certification for the foreseeable future.
Last year the article “Gone In A Flash” highlighted the various reasons behind, and expected outcomes from, the impending death of Flash. The end of life for Flash is December of this year. However, the browsers that we rely on to access Blackboard have all made steps to remove it already.
October 2020 has seen a number of additions and changes among SHSU Online staff.
Blackboard instructors can now find SHSU Online’s Hybrid/Blended Webinar recordings in Blackboard! That’s right, there’s no more hunting through your emails for an obscure zoom recording link. From now on, as we create, edit, update, and host faculty development webinars, we will be posting them in Blackboard.
Student engagement is a fulcrum upon which a successful synchronous session can turn. One way you can help with efficiency is to leverage pre-assigned breakout groups/rooms in Zoom for your students.
