The SHSU Online Multimedia team provides design services such as banners, graphics for courses, course videos and gaming programs for faculty teaching online.

The SHSU Online Course Design Rubric is used to guide and inform the course development process, as well as evaluate the design of any course which contains online components. It can be used whether the course is fully or partially online, flipped or web‐assisted face‐to‐face.
A spinoff of the rubric, the Technical Evaluation provides both SHSU Online and academic departments the opportunity to document evidence of sound pedagogical practices and establishes quality assurance standards in the online course environment.
There are instances when course development stipends can be paid out to a faculty member who undertakes the opportunity to develop a course for online delivery. SHSU Online plays a role in the stipend process by providing feedback about the quality and delivery‐readiness of newly developed courses.
