Sam Houston State University is No. 1 in the new OnlineColleges.com study of the best online colleges in Texas for 2019-20. The ranking places SHSU No. 8 in the nation for top online colleges. This is the second year in a row SHSU and its online degree programs lead in the report, this time rising to the top of the list from No. 2 in 2018.

Blackboard will be undergoing system maintenance during the pre-dawn hours of Monday, August 19, 2019. The maintenance window is expected to start around 1:00 a.m. Central Daylight Time and to be finished no later than 8:00 a.m. Central Daylight Time. Blackboard will be inaccessible during this time. Students and faculty will need to log out of Blackboard prior to 1:00 a.m. on August 19 in order to ensure their coursework is not affected. SHSU Online is calling for presentation proposals for the eighth annual Digital Education Summit, a two-day teaching and learning event about practices and methodologies for online educators, to be held September 19-20, 2019 in the Lowman Student Center on the Sam Houston State University campus. This call for proposals is open to all educators and teaching/learning subject matter experts.

In an article in the April 2019 SHSU Online newsletter, we mentioned that SHSU Online would have Blackboard Ally turned on for all courses in the Fall 2019 semester. SHSU Online will be activating Ally for all Fall 2019 courses on Thursday, August 1, 2019.
