This fall marked the continued success of the Online Course Redesign and Faculty Certification program at SHSU. During a busy Fall 2019 semester, 45 faculty members successfully achieved certification, bringing the grand total to 183 since last June. Attendees were able to participate in a guided course review with their online courses as well as collaborate with Instructional Designers on implementing changes developed during the self-evaluation process.
Enrollment for the Spring 2019 cohorts opened on November 16, 2018. Thanks to encouragement from Provost Dr. Richard Eglsaer, and participation from online teaching faculty, the fall cohorts were a success! We look forward to the same results for the spring semester. Aside from the certification and individual attention, online faculty receive a $500 stipend for attending.
A fully online version of the Course Redesign and Faculty Certification program for faculty that cannot attend the face-to-face cohorts will debut this summer.
