Using data sourced from FEMA, the City of Houston, NOAA, and Sam Houston State University, SHSU Online has created a web-based mapping application, titled "Crisis As A Driver for Innovation," that enables faculty members to explore the positive impact of their hard work in creating a shortened 7B semester in Fall 2017. The effort helped Bearkats at a time when they needed it most... in the wake of Hurricane Harvey.
The presentation, which has also been embedded in this article, allows users to scroll through several pages that illustrate how the combined efforts of SHSU's faculty members, Enrollment Management, and SHSU Online truly embodied the phrase, "The measure of a life is its service".
