University Accreditation

SHSU is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award associate, baccalaureate, masters, and doctoral degrees. SHSU also may offer credentials such as certificates and diplomas at approved degree levels. College of Business Administration
The College of Business Administration’s undergraduate and graduate degree programs are accredited by AACSB International, The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.
College of Criminal Justice
The Master of Science in Forensic Science is accredited by the Forensic Science Education Programs Accreditation Commission (FEPAC).
College of Fine Arts and Mass Communication
The School of Music’s undergraduate and graduate degree programs are accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music.
College of Health Sciences
The BS in Nursing Program is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) and the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
College of Education
The College of Education is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE). As one of only thirteen universities in Texas with accreditation from NCATE, the educator preparation programs meet the accreditation standards necessary to ensure high-quality graduates.
Master of Library Science (MLS)
The Master of Library Science (MLS) program has recently been nationally recognized by the National Council of Accreditation for Teacher Education.
