Grants are outright financial gifts that you don't have to repay. Some common grants include the Federal Pell Grant and the TEXAS Grant. Each grant will have its own eligibility requirements.
Scholarships, like grants, don't have to be repaid. Scholarships are offered through private endowments and academic organizations.
A loan is financial assistance that enables you to borrow money from the federal government, state government or private lenders. Unlike grants or scholarships, loans are repaid according to their terms.
Work Study can help you pay for your college by providing you with employment while you complete your degree and continue to meet the standards required for financial aid.
