Sam Houston State University and its partner institutions within the Texas State University System (TSUS) are making significant strides in upgrading their LMS to Blackboard Ultra. This exciting transition will be completed with the launch of the Fall 2024 semester, with Sul Ross State University leading the way by fully transitioning to Ultra in Summer 2024.
The move from Blackboard Original to Blackboard Ultra represents a major step forward in enhancing the online learning experience for both students and faculty. Blackboard Ultra boasts a modern, intuitive interface that streamlines course navigation and facilitates seamless interaction between instructors and learners.
Blackboard Ultra introduces a host of new features and tools designed to foster collaboration, engagement, and personalized learning. From interactive discussion boards and collaborative workspaces to adaptive learning paths and integrated multimedia content, Ultra empowers instructors to create dynamic, student-centered learning experiences.
To ensure a smooth transition, SHSU's dedicated instructional design team has been working tirelessly to assist faculty in migrating their courses from Blackboard Original to Ultra. Thus far, our team has successfully helped faculty transition 94 courses for the Summer semester and 295 for the Fall, with many more to come. Their expertise and support have been instrumental in helping instructors leverage the full potential of Blackboard Ultra's features and functionalities.
As the Fall 2024 semester approaches, SHSU and its TSUS partner institutions are well-positioned to complete the LMS upgrade and deliver a cutting-edge online learning environment to their students. This collaborative effort demonstrates the commitment of these institutions to providing the highest quality educational experiences and preparing learners for success in an increasingly digital world.
