In order to better support the blended-learning environment at SHSU, the Registrar’s Office has automated the cross-listing of courses selected by SHSU colleges, prior to their loading into Blackboard. This brief video will walk instructors through what that looks like.
The automated cross-listing (or splitting of one section into multiple sections) is being leveraged to encourage social distancing and reduce the amount of students in the physical classroom space. Instructors will make changes in the parent or master course and students enrolled in child courses will see the changes reflected there.
Instructors can differentiate between sections by filtering on the Child Course ID column in the Grade Center. For assistance with managing your cross-listed sections, reach out to your Instructional Designer or the SHSU Online Support Desk at 936.294.2780 or blackboard@shsu.edu.
