Exciting news from the road! SHSU Online’s Instructional Design, Faculty Development (Training), and Support Desk teams hit the road and headed to scenic West Texas for a special visit with our Texas State University System (TSUS) partner, Sul Ross State University (SRSU). The team visited the Alpine campus on Monday, June 9, and the morning of Tuesday, June 10.

The visit focused on connection and collaboration. The SHSU Online team met with SRSU faculty and staff for hands-on sessions, training opportunities, and discussions about strengthening online learning and instructional support across the shared system. It was a great opportunity to exchange ideas, explore new tools, and build even stronger partnerships between the institutions. “These visits are incredibly valuable for our faculty and staff,” said Tim Parsons, SRSU Director of Instructional Services. “They give us a chance to grow our skills, connect directly with the SHSU Online team, and stay up to date with the latest in instructional technology. We look forward to them every year!”
The journey didn’t stop in Alpine! On Tuesday afternoon, June 10, Tim Parsons from SRSU joined the SHSU Online team for additional stops in Del Rio and Eagle Pass to meet with faculty and provide the same high-quality services and support.
Those located in Alpine, Del Rio, or Eagle Pass who wanted to schedule time with the team during the visit were encouraged to contact Tim Parsons to get on the schedule.
We appreciated the opportunity to see everyone, share knowledge, and learn from one another. Until next time, Sul Ross!
