SPECIAL: CARES Center Invites Participation in Nationwide Conversation on COVID-19 Response

Special to SHSU Online Newsletter

SHSU_CARES_cntrSHSU's Center for Assessment, Research, and Educational Safety (CARES) has launched an IdeaScale community where educators can share how COVID-19 affected their jobs in higher education.

IdeaScale is a crowd-sourcing tool that functions like a social media platform. In the community, Higher Education Leaders Learning from COVID-19 Response, there are eight active categories, including Finance, Communication, Students, Employees, Decision Making/Timing, Research, Remote Learning Transition, and Plans for the Fall. Once an account is created, members are encouraged to post any idea that pertains to their professional experience with COVID-19 and comment or vote on the ideas of other members.

With the participation of schools, colleges, and universities, our researchers will be able to recognize what went well and what could be improved during the transition from in-person to online learning. It does not stop there; this information will be used to establish future guidelines for school shutdowns.

Not sure what to say? There are prompts to help you better understand how to answer in each category appropriately. Every idea posted will be treated with the upmost importance. There are no small or unwanted ideas.

This CARES community will stay open until summer 2021, so continue to stay involved and follow up as needed!
