In February 2024, the Online Instructional Development and Support team at SHSU Online will be launching a brand-new certification aimed at equipping instructors with the knowledge, skills, and practices to weave generative AI into their course-building efforts and learning activities. The new certification is called Using Generative AI in Teaching and Learning.

In this dynamic and innovative course, educators will embark on a transformative journey into the realm of artificial intelligence (AI) and its profound impact on the field of education. This course is designed to empower educators with the knowledge and skills to leverage AI technologies effectively in various aspects of teaching and learning.

As technology continues to evolve, educators must be equipped with the tools to navigate the changing landscape of education. This course delves into the applications of AI in educational settings by exploring how AI can enhance instructional methods, foster personalized learning experiences, and contribute to the development of critical thinking skills in students.

Upon completion of the Using Generative AI in Teaching and Learning course, the successful digital teaching participant will be able to:
