SHSU Online is committed to the safety and security of its students, faculty, staff and visitors. Personal safety is an important consideration when evaluating the ability to continue on-ground operations during instances of inclement weather. At times, severe weather may result in closures to university facilities, roads and/or services.
When the campus is partially or completely closed due to inclement weather, a notification will be posted to Blackboard and/or SHSU Online's home page detailing the effect upon the SHSU Online Support Desk. We will attempt to continue offering technology support services through inclement weather, via email support from inquiries received from email@example.com.
If weather conditions do not allow for such support, then an announcement on Blackboard will outline that there is no technology support available and give an estimation of when technology support may resume.
Students and Faculty are encouraged to check Blackboard and/or SHSU Online Support Desk page frequently during inclement weather conditions for an update on the effect upon technology support services.
Should the power go out on campus, or MySam is down due to the weather, you can use the Blackboard Guest Login credentials to access Blackboard. Check out the Instructions for Accessing Guest Login.
The SHSU Online Support Desk will be closed during all posted university holidays.
Regularly Scheduled Maintenance
Once a year, during the holiday break in December, we conduct system maintenance on Blackboard Learn and other academic technologies. During these times, the SHSU Online Support Desk is closed.
Power Outages & Facility Emergencies
In the event of a significant power outage, or a facility emergency, an announcement will be posted on the SHSU Online Support Desk homepage detailing adjusted hours and estimated time of service interruption.
