This 1 hour session covers NBC Learn for Blackboard. NBC Learn is a rich and unique resources that provide thousands of historic news reports, current event stories, original content, primary source documents, and other digital media specifically designed to teach and engage students. NBC Learn content can easily be downloaded for offline use. You and your students can easily place NBC Learn content in your Blackboard courses thanks to a handy integration.

Kaltura - Lecture, Audio, Video and Screen Capture

Adding video to our Blackboard courses just became easier! This 60-90 minute session covers how to add video to your Blackboard course using the Kaltura Mashup tool. Attendees will learn how to record and upload video from their webcam as well as capture what is on their own computer screen (PowerPoints etc.).

Blackboard Learn: Managing the Gradebook

Participants will learn how to use the Blackboard Grade Center to record data, calculate grades, and monitor student progress. Manage students’ grades and create grade columns for any activities or requirements you wish to grade.

Blackboard Learn: Rubrics

Participants will learn how to use the Rubric tool that lists evaluation criteria for an assignment, and provide a means to convey expectations to students for the quality of completed assignments. This session lasts approximately 60 minutes.

Blackboard Quiz Generator

This tool was developed to help you create quizzes for Blackboard. It allows you to type up the quiz offline in a program like Word or Notepad and not have to go through the trouble of making long quizzes via the Blackboard web interface. Session is approximately 1 hour.

Respondus - Exam Creation, Import/Export

This one-hour session covers how to employ Respondus Lockdown Browser in your online course to ensure students only have the ability to take your test and nothing else when completing an assessment in Blackboard.

The Self and Peer Assessment Building Block is a tool designed to facilitate the objective, analytical, and learning comprehension skills of students. Reviewing the work of fellow students through criteria-based reference evaluation allows constructive feedback. This 60 minute how-to session will demonstrate how Blackboard's new "in-line" grading feature allows instructors to grade Assignments, Blogs, Wikis, Journals and Discussions all inside the Blackboard environment. This has the added bonus of instructors not having to download and re-upload Word, PDF, Excel or PowerPoint documents to make corrections.

This one-hour session helps faculty members to "gamify" Blackboard courses with badges and certificates. The Achievements tool allows instructors to designate criteria for issuing rewards to students. Much like the Early Warning System, rules can be set as the criteria for issuing achievements. Unlike the Early Warning System, the achievement tool rewards students for their accomplishments, rather than punishing or identifying detrimental behavior.
